The "Girls" had such a fabulous time in New York City this year.
I was meeting the "Louisiana Bunch" in Newark around noon, so it was a really early start to the day as the Folly and I left Maison Cou Rouge to head to the Atlanta airport.
But the sun was up by the time I got on the interstate and crossed Lake Oconee.
Gotta LOVE Atlanta traffic....
I arrived a few minutes before the others, but met up with them at the airport. Our darling driver Tommy was at Newark to pick us all up.
Before long we were checked into our wonderful Kimberly Hotel and after a delicious dinner at 21, it was off to see Shrek, The Musical.
Saturday morning, Tommy took us up to the Conservatory Gardens. It was glorious, even in the rain (I might even say Especially in the rain.
I even managed to find a quentissentially Saturday morning Central Park shot...
Then it was to the Museum of the City of New York.
Lunch at Union Square Cafe was fabulous as always. Then a bit of shopping and it was time to get ready for West Side Story.
The choreography by Jerome Robbins is timeless, and the musical is as fresh as ever. Afterwards, we walked in the mist to a FABULOUS meal at Oceana.
It just doesn't get better for fish in New York. FRESH SARDINES!!!!
