2011 SFC Stockholm Day 1

There was a fierce desire to nap in the luxurious beds the Grand Hotel offered, but we fought it off like the seasoned pond-jumpers we are. Nothing better than to get out in the bright warm sunshine of a Scandinavian summer.

So after a quick bite to eat in the hotel, we were off to reconnoiter the area for dining that evening. (because, you know, like, we hadn't just eaten or anything...) Stockholm on Sunday afternoon is the PERFECT time to sight-see.

Even camera-shy brother Ed enjoyed himself.

Someone's going to be surprised.

The ducks seemed happy enough with a petite snooze.

Restaurant located, we made our way back to the hotel to change for dinner.

Back at the hotel, I enjoyed the midsummer decorations.

A few hours later, we met up in the bar for cocktails.

And Mary Cecile and Julia were still all smiles.

And we had a glimpse of the wild JuJu in her natural environment.

We had a lovely early supper at Kaffegillet

Where most of us had, of all things, Swedish Meatballs (imagine that).

(No, I had reindeer).

And the Hancock girls got their first notice of why it is called "the midnight sun"--they thought it was funny for the sun to be up at 9pm.

Just wait until morning...especially if you don't close your curtains!!!!!
