After returning from the second game drive, it was time for breakfast and a little break.
From the breakfast table, I looked out over the shallow ford of the Sand River and this is what I saw.
Oh, gee...nothing big...just one of the BIG FIVE of Africa--a Cape Buffalo-- looking for a place to wallow before the heat of the day set in.
Running back to my chalet for the "big" camera, what should I find standing on my deck but THIS little guy.
A waterbok. I don't know who was more startled..him or me.
Amazing Africa. It's all around you.
After breakfast, I sat down on the porch of my chalet and watched the world.
Even in the midday, I didn't find the heat oppressive at all.
See the little guy in the center of the photo?
I don't know exactly what he is, but he is very cute and colorful!
Looking to my left, I can see the thatched roof of the next chalet.
Yep, LIFE IS GOOD!
Mama, ever energetic, decided to take the noon yoga class. But I took a tip from my friend, the water buffalo...
and put on my swimsuit and wallowed in the pool for a bit.
(riiiggghhhtt..like I'm going to post a photo of me in a swimsuit....)
Then back to the veranda
and it was almost time for luncheon!
