Nuuk- Museums, Mummies and Malls

Heading south down the coast of Greenland...we made one last "foreign" stop before heading across the short stretch of Atlantic back to the USA.

Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, has everything a modern city girl could desire.  The thing the city is most famous for- well, besides Greenland's only skyscraper (8 stories), is the National Museum and the famous mummies. You can click on the link to see them- out of deference to them, I chose not to photograph them.

The rest of the museum was fair game, however...and it was fascinating.

Outdoors, I noticed this metal cutout.  What a clever idea- a way of decorating when there are no plants about in mid- winter!

To the mall...to the mall.  Not much I needed, but I just wanted to say I'd been.

And, all too soon, as Crystal Shore Excursion's descriptions are wont to say, it was time to leave.

East Coast Bound!
