Sisimiut- more than just yarn

I felt like I had been removed from some ice-bound planet in Star Wars and plopped back on Earth.

Busses.  Stores.  ATM's.

"Normal" produce prices again...

But still touches of the Arctic.

After leaving several krone behind (more qiviut, more icelandic wool), I visited the charming outdoor museum.

Archway built to resemble a whale ribcage.

Sod houses kept things toasty.

Second story entrance to the church (school?) made things easier in the winter snows.

And early departure and a bit of sadness- time to say a fond farewell to our faithful sidekick in this adventure- The Shackleton paraded a few of our zodiacs off our starboard side as we sailed out to sea alone- while  Stan Roger's "Northwest Passage" resounded through the ship.

Yes, there were a few tears.  Can't believe the cruise is almost over.

But time for one more bit of magic.  The night was perfect for northern lights,  we were told.
And finally- I could cross another item off the bucket list.

And I think to myself- What a Wonderful World.
